I wonder if I could draw a particular book to your attention in case you think it would be worth reviewing? "Outcasts of Skagaray" was written out of concern for the unwanted and rejected of the world. For excerpts, see www.threeswans.com.au Your opinion would be valued if you decided to read it.
A good book is that much better when shared with a friend... or a large group of friends. We love to read; we love to talk. We love to discover new books and new authors. Add some coffee and dessert, and what more can we ask?
How Do We Choose Our Books?
We take turns hosting our monthly meetings. We also take turns as book selector. Each book selector brings three choices. We vote on them, using a double elimination vote. Each person has two votes; we vote twice, eliminating one book each time.
A Little About the Club
Our book club began in 1992, when a number of friends and coworkers realized that it would be both fun and interesting to combine their shared love of reading and enjoyment of each other's company. Add some coffee and dessert to the discussion, and you have our book club. Members of the club have changed slightly, but many of the original members are still there.
We've discussed over 175 book selections in our time together, and we plan to read and discuss many more.
